I had not ridden horses four about 35 years and now I am 54 years old. I always wanted a horse so decided it had to be now or never.  I first met Midori when my husband gave me 4 lessons with her as a birthday present. I took those lessons with her about a year ago.  I was immediately impressed by the relationship she had with her horse, Red, and how much respect they had for each other.  Midori was very patient and didn’t rush me and everything was done in a very calm atmosphere.  I liked her style and the concept of “natural” horsemanship and was very excited about finding a horse just like Red and being able to ride him just like Midori!

I did buy a horse a few months later but he was young and I was very inexperienced and after I had him for about six months I realized that I was not progressing and I became pretty intimidated by my horse, Jesse.  I bought some Clinton Anderson tapes and called Midori. 

Later, I took Jesse to Midori’s barn and we began our training together, although I  believe I needed more training than Jesse did as when I watched him with Midori, he had immediate respect for her.  Midori is fantastic around horses.  She can read them like a book.  She exudes confidence and she somehow transfers that confidence to you.   I always felt totally safe with Midori’s teaching.  She doesn’t push you too far or too fast and checks in to see how you feel about trying something new before you do it.  I have learned so much from Midori about horse behavior and training tools.  She has given me a lot of confidence.  She is very respectful but firm with the horses and they respect her greatly, all of them.  I would highly recommend Midori as a teacher and trainer.   She has given me invaluable information on how to be a successful horse owner and rider.  I could not have come so far so fast without Midori’s expert guidance.  I would recommend her to anyone who yearns to have a mutually respectful connection with a horse in their lives.
