My first introduction to natural horsemanship was when I attended a Parelli clinic last year.  I had never been exposed to working with horses in this way, and I immediately was hooked.  I bought a "carrot" stick, halter and viewed some tapes, but I had no where to go with this new found information.  A friend of mine told me about Midori, and shortly thereafter, we made arrangements to move my horse to her barn.  Since I have been there, I have been continually amazed to see what my horse has learned in an incredibly short time, the confidence I have developed in being around my horse, and I riding bareback for the first time ever! I have a new respect for these beautiful creatures, and realize that they are very smart; willing to learn, and they are willing to please--just by giving them the freedom to be a horse; respecting their boundaries and teaching them to respect mine as an owner and companion.
I could not accomplish what I am able to do without the patient and knowledgeable guidance of Midori.  It is incredible to "read" a horse through her eyes, and see how these guys respond to her instruction.  I consider myself very fortunate to be a part of this community.
